やまのてトーストマスターズ的例会報告 (第197回)
This was the first meeting of the year. Though people could still be enjoying the holidays, the meeting welcomed 13 members and 3 returning guests. The President called the meeting to order at 19:15, asked these guests to introduce themselves, asked to provide the Word of the Evening (“brand new”), and turned the control of the meeting to the Toast Master of Evening (TMOE). TMOE then requested Timer, Ah Counter & Grammarian, Vote Counter for their respective role explanations.
The meeting moved onto the prepared speech session, in which the first speaker presented a speech tilted “All’s fair in love and war”, under Resources for Entertaining, Project #2, The Entertaining Speaker. She talked about how men and women think differently about their relationships with their partners in surprising but entertaining ways. I also believe that the audience also learnt that there were significant cultural differences on love affairs between Japan and Europe/North America.
Then an evaluator provided a speech evaluation subsequently. She commented that she did enjoy the speech and made a suggestion for the speaker’s future betterment. Timer, Ah Counter, & Grammarian provided their reports after this.
休憩を挟んで例会は日本語で再開しました。最初は今夜の言葉「久しぶり」の紹介があり、続いて計時係、集計係、えーとカウンター、文法係がそれぞれ紹介されました。
テーブルトピックスマスターは初挑戦の方でした。１問目が「お正月で一番印象に残ったことは？」で、２問目が「新しい年に向けての目標とその実現方法は？」、３問目が「お正月の日本の伝統を海外の人に説明するとしたら？」でそれぞれが回答を発表されました。
日本語の準備スピーチ一人目は11/19の入会後初スピーチの方でした。課題は基本マニュアルの課題#1アイスブレーカで「私の履歴書」という題名でした。出身地山形県での思い出から、家族の話や競泳をしていたことなどについて話されました。
二人目は知らせるためのスピーチ（上級マニュアル）課題4、実状調査のスピーチに基づき、「和のこころ」という題名のスピーチを発表されました。日本語学習者の数に対し、教師の数が不足している現状と解決策について発表されました。その後論評者らがそれぞれ良かったところと今後への改善点について説明されました。
その後総合論評から、例会全体の論評がありました。確約割の良かったところと改善点について話されました。2月の2回目例会で200回例会となることから、それについての連絡などが会長からあり閉会となりました。もうすぐ200回、感慨深いですね。
