やまのてトーストマスターズ的例会報告 (第169回)
11月20日金曜日午後7時15分、見学者４名（TMに初めて参加された方3名＋例会の途中でしたが駆けつけて下さったサンフランシスコのTMで活動されていた方1名）ご出席の下、教育担当副会長による開会宣言で例会が始まりました。開会間もなく参加予定者全員が揃い、スームズな例会進行となりました。
The first half of the meeting was English session and started with the introduction of toastmaster of the evening (TMOE) by the VP Education. At the beginning, TMOE mentioned we were having ‘Evaluation workshop’ as a special event in the second half of the meeting, and introduced the helpers. The first helper introduced ‘Word of the evening’, ‘Perception / Perceive’, which all the participants were encouraged to use during speaking in their turn as much as possible.
After all the helpers explained their roles briefly, the meeting went into the prepared speech session. The first speaker talked about climbing mountains, one of her hobbies. Her project was the basic manual#8, in which she’s supposed to select and use visual aids effectively. She successfully carried on her speech with presenting some graphs and pictures time to time, which made good impacts to the audiences.
The second speaker was the person who had experienced the president of this TM club in the past. He talked about ‘substance / virtue / TM values’, which was his speech title. He developed the abstract theme with quoting from the analects of Confucious (論語) and successfully completed his project, advance manual#2; Resources for informing.
After these two speeches, we moved on to the evaluation session. The both evaluators did well in their evaluations by encouraging the speakers and giving suggestions for areas to be improved.
As the last part of the English session, the general evaluator reviewed the entire English session, which went well with good contents and also in terms of time management in order to be able to spend enough time for ‘Evaluation Workshop’, the special event in the second half of the meeting.
5分の休憩時間後、後半の日本語の部を開始しました。日本語の部は通常例会と異なり、論評ワークショップを行いました。今夜の言葉；「認識」の紹介後、ヘルパーは担当者の紹介のみで早速論評ワークショップへ移りました。
「効果的な論評の技術」という内容で、TMでの経験が深く毎年春・秋のTMでのコンテストでも活躍している担当者が、自己の論評での経験なども交え、まずは何よりも頑張って準備をしてスピーチをしたスピーカーを次の活躍へ導く為の称賛と励ますことの大切さ、如何に行うか、建設的な改善点の述べ方、そして肯定的な論評の展開の仕方、などをレクチャーしてくれました。
その後、ワークショップの為のテストスピーチに移りました。英国への留学を終え帰国され再入会をされた会員の方が担当されました。「変わるということ」というタイトルで、私達自身が変わるということをどう考えているか、ミルトン・エリクソン（米心理学者）の具体的なエピソードから、期待した変化でなかったとしても我々は変われているのだ、柔軟に受け止めれば幸福と思うことが出来る、ということをお話されました。
担当者の進行により、4名により実際に論評が行われました。十人十色という様に、同じスピーチを元にしてもそれぞれの観点・展開がありました。
一人目の論評者は、スピーチの素晴らしさを絶賛しつつ、声の抑揚を付け淡々と進んだスピーチに変化を付けることを提案しました。
二人目の論評者は英語を母国語とする会員で、日本語での論評に果敢に挑戦してくれました。ビジネスパーソンへプレゼンの指導などもされている方であり、頑張って日本語の語彙の中で、スピーチの良い点、改善点を伝えてくれました。
三人目の論評者は、同様にスピーチの素晴らしさを称え、改善点として、対話の部分にロールプレイを取り入れ、メリハリを更に加えてはどうかという提案をしました。
最後の論評者は、前者三名と異なる、時系列でスピーチを追って論点を示していくという展開を取りました。
担当者により論評ワークショップが終えられ、総合論評に進みました。ワークショップ自体の内容に加え、それぞれの発表者に対して具体的にコメントし、会場からの拍手を求め盛り上げ、ワークショップが成功した点を中心にコメントされました。
TMOEより教育担当副会長に司会がバトンされ、最後にゲストで参加して下さった4名の方に感想のコメントを頂きました。海外留学を目指されている大学生の方、留学経験者の社会人の方、海外でのTM経験者で帰国されたばかりの方、みなさんそれぞれのバックグラウンドですが、バイリンガルクラブであるやまのてTMCでの活動にご興味をお持ち頂いてご参加下さいました。有難うございました。またのご参加を是非お待ちしております。
今回は役割のキャンセルが無く、我々会員への教育プログラムである論評ワークショップも成功に終わり、4名のゲストの方にもご参加頂け、全参加者の協力の元とても良い例会となったと思います。皆様有難うございました。
