やまのてトーストマスターズ的例会報告 (第168回)
11月6日金曜日午後7時15分、見学者6名（他クラブ会員3名、その他の見学者3名）出席の下、教育担当副会長による開会宣言で例会が始まりました。今回から開始を試行的に15分遅らせての開会となりましたが、その甲斐あってか開会宣言直後に複数の方が駆け込み入場されることもなく、また準備スピーチと論評のドタキャンもありませんでしたので、落ち着いて例会が始まりました。見学者紹介（うち一名入会表明あり）と今日の言葉（「慕う」）の発表後は筆者が進行役となり、一部の役割変更と役割紹介の後に各準備スピーチの発表となりました。
1本目のスピーチは自己紹介スピーチ「３つのハイライト」です。「CCマニュアル」の課題1アイスブレーカーに基づいて大学時代の思い出や社会人になってからの体験談、トーストマスターズに入会した理由を話されました。風邪で体調が良くないにもかかわらず、元気にスピーチを発表されました。
2本目の他クラブからゲストスピーカー。「おいしいコーヒーの淹れ方」と題して、上級マニュアル「知らせるためのスピーチ」、課題3実演スピーチに基づいて、出席者を演台付近に集めた上でおいしいコーヒーの淹れ方の実演をされました（試飲もあり）。豆の新鮮さや挽くタイミングもさることながら、香りと苦みの釣り合いのとれたコーヒーにはお湯の温度（適温は80-85度程度とか）がとても大事である事を力説されました。会場にはおいしいコーヒーの香りが漂っていました。
2本のスピーチが終わった後は論評です。1人目の論評者は、ご自身がしばらく例会に出席できなかったことを引き合いに出しながら、緊張して堅くなることが多いアイスブレーカーの気持ちに配慮しながら、スピーカーが発表した3つのハイライトがよく分かった事について発表されました。
2人目の論評者は、スピーカーがとても上手に発表されたので、温度が大事と言うことが分かっただけでなく、おいしいコーヒーを飲めた事など、実演スピーチとしての完成度がとても高かったと評価しておられました。
二人の論評者の後は総合論評です。各役割担当者について、欠席者対応等の良かった点や、スピーチ情報の発表を忘れた司会に対する改善提案等、幅広く論評されました。またこの時間に今夜の言葉の使用回数の報告（3人）と文法係えーとカウンターの報告（不必要なカタカナ語はひかえた方がいい等）もありました。
After the intermission, the meeting has resumed and conducted in English. Due to the time constraints, the Toastmaster of the Evening (TMOE; writer of this report) announced the audience that role explanations would be skipped, however, the TMOE announced who will be doing roles of timer, ah counter / grammarian, vote counter and the word of the evening (adore).
The TMOE then introduced the first speaker in the English session. The speaker presented a speech titled “A spokes person of your club” based on the Project 9, CC Manual. As she is the Vice President of Membership for the club, she emphasized the importance of promoting the club to the Japanese society citing her personal experience that positively changed her life.
The next speaker was a person who used to be our member until mid-last year and recently returned from Sendai City. His speech was based on the Project 1, Techinical Briefing from an Advanced Manual of Technical Presentations. During his stay in Sendai City, he also belong to Sendai Toastmasters Club. Based on this experience, he used visual aids to explain key differences between Yamanote and Sendai TMCs.
Then we had an Evaluation Session in English. The first evaluator challenged his first evaluation in English and succeeded. He told the club how he was convinced of the speaker’s key message that we should promote the club to prospective members and promised that he would invite his friends to the club as guests.
The next evaluator explained that the second speaker’s speech opening caught her attention and also commented the effectiveness of his visual aids while also making suggestions.
After the evaluations, a Table Topics (TT) Session was conducted. Three people presented table topic speeches all related to the age 34.
The next was General Evaluation. Like in the Japanese language session, he provided positive remarks and made suggestions for improvement on all role takers. During this General Evaluation Session, reports on Word of the Evening and ah-counting / grammar were also provided.
The last segment is the most exciting moment in the English session-Award presentation done by TMOE. Congratulations for all the winners!!! TMOE then turned the control of the podium to the Presiding Officer.
その後言語は日本語に戻り、見学者の感想（そのうち、１名の方がやまてTMCに復帰決定）の後に連絡事項、入会式（入会承認、メンターの指名）が行われて無事閉会しました。
