The 226th Meeting Report

This week was the first meeting in this Japanese new fiscal year so I suppose many members had work-related engagements. This probably explains why there were some people who came to the meeting late BUT we are taastmasters!
The meeting was call to order at 19:15, as scheduled. President MH had an elegant opening, relating her remarks with cherry blossoms! We also had a great turn out of guest, 6 in total, with one of them becoming a member later at the meeting.
President MH offered a short time to guests for their self-introductions. Then, I as the Toastmaster of the Evening, took control of the meeting.
Due to some members coming late, I worked on rearrangements of my agenda with members already there at the meeting. TM HO was Word of the Evening (admire) and Ah Counter. TM NI was Grammarian. TM SA was timer and TM CT was Vote Counter. Each of these helpers briefed their assignments to other meeting attendees.

20120406-220120406-5In the English Language Session, the biggest “attraction” was Tabletopics during this meeting—yes, we need to start our preparation for Tabletopics Contests coming autumn this year, as TM AA suggested before. TM TO, who also serves as our Vice President Education, conducted this session. Since this weeks was a season of school enrollments in Japan, TM TO gave 6 questions to members. He asked Tabletpics participants to play roles of President, alumni, academics and Vice President of a university and asked them to give remarks to freshmen there. All answers were very timely! The English Session was closed with report from the helpers.
